In 2025, an estimated 9.3 million people—69% of the country’s total population of 13.4 million—are expected to need some form of humanitarian assistance in South Sudan.
Since April 2023, more than 905,000 people have crossed into South Sudan from Sudan, with a further 337,000 individuals expected to arrive in 2025. This significant influx is placing additional pressure on already overstretched resources and is intensifying existing vulnerabilities.
