HealthNet TPO is transforming healthcare in South Sudan by strengthening local health systems and empowering communities. Through the Multi-Donor Trust Fund, we are improving maternal and child health services, fostering government ownership, and ensuring lasting access to essential care.
Strengthening Healthcare for Women and Children in Aweil and Raja
South Sudan continues to face significant challenges in delivering reliable and equitable healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable populations such as women and children. In response, the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) is at the forefront of transforming healthcare systems in the country. This innovative initiative focuses on strengthening health systems, empowering communities, and ensuring sustainable access to essential health and nutrition services. By fostering a government-led approach and building on the progress achieved under previous programs, the MDTF paves the way for a healthier and more resilient future for all South Sudanese.
This program is implemented in the states of Northern Bahr el Ghazal (Aweil West and North) and Western Bahr el Ghazal (Raja), where access to quality healthcare has historically been limited.
Empowering Change
This program is more than a response to immediate health needs—it is a pathway to empowerment. By strengthening the ability of local governments to lead health initiatives, it creates a foundation for resilience in the face of future challenges. Communities are not only benefiting from better healthcare but are also being equipped to take ownership of their health and wellbeing.
A Vision for the Future
As the MDTF continues to unfold, its vision remains clear: to create a sustainable healthcare system that serves all South Sudanese, regardless of their location or circumstances. By building partnerships, strengthening local systems, and focusing on long-term solutions, the program is setting a benchmark for impactful healthcare interventions in fragile settings.
This initiative, supported by UNICEF and The World Bank, runs from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, with the goal of leaving a legacy of healthier, stronger communities in South Sudan. HealthNet TPO is proud to play a role in this transformation, continuing its mission to rebuild health systems and empower communities around the world.
