HealthNet TPO condemns in the strongest terms the recent attack on humanitarian aid workers from World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Gaza.
According to reports, seven members of the WCK team, including individuals from various nationalities, were killed in an IDF strike while operating in a deconflicted zone. Despite coordinating movements with the IDF and visibly marking their vehicles with the WCK logo, the convoy was targeted, leaving devastating consequences.
“This is not only an attack against WCK; this is an attack on humanitarian organisations showing up in the most dire of situations where food is being used as a weapon of war. This is unforgivable”, said World Central Kitchen CEO Erin Gore.
HealthNet TPO stands in solidarity with all humanitarian organisations working tirelessly to assist those affected by conflict and crisis around the world.
In addition to condemning the killings of humanitarian aid workers, HealthNet TPO also condemns the loss of civilian lives and the suffering endured by innocent civilianscaught in the midst of the conflict in Gaza. We call for an immediate cessation of violence and urge all parties involved to prioritise the protection of civilians and respect international humanitarian law.
We reaffirm our commitment to humanitarian principles and vow to continue advocating for the protection of humanitarian workers in conflict zones.
