“Afghan doctors are warning of the imminent collapse of the healthcare system, as hospitals and clinics run short of resources and health providers have their funding paused by international donors”

On September 14th 2021, HealthNet TPO was mentioned in CNN. Read the full article here.

“More than $1 billion in aid has been pledged for Afghanistan to help ease one of the world’s “worst humanitarian crises,” as millions of people in the country could soon run out of food and the economy is on the verge of collapse, the United Nations said on Monday.”

“Meanwhile, Afghan doctors are warning of the imminent collapse of the healthcare system, as hospitals and clinics run short of resources and health providers have their funding paused by international donors, according to HealthNet TPO, an NGO that runs a network of hospitals and health centers in the country.”

Whilst funding for Afghanistan has been promised, it may take months for funds to reach health facilities in dire conditions and no long-term financial solutions have been established. We still need your support now more than ever. Donate now to directly support HealthNet TPO-run hospitals and health centres during this crisis.

Your gift will buy life-saving medicines for patients, oxygen to treat people with COVID-19 and fuel to run hospital generators and keep our ambulances on the road. Thank you.
