Annual Report 2021
HealthNet TPO presents the Annual Report 2021. Despite the immense challenges faced over the course of 2021, we continued to make a positive impact to the health and mental health of people living in fragile and conflict-affected settings.
Due to unforeseen circumstances in Afghanistan, the organisation has experienced a delay in the publication of the Annual Report 2021.
In 2021, the Taliban took over power in Afghanistan and the events that followed had important consequences for the financial position of HealthNet TPO. In the second half of 2021, instalments for Afghanistan were (temporarily) suspended, including payments. This resulted in additional work to deliver of our financial data related to our activities in 2021 in Afghanistan, and therefore the production of the Annual Report 2021 and the Annual Account 2021.
Despite the immense challenges faced over the course of 2021, we are proud to present the Annual Report 2021 and the positive impact we continued to make around the world.
"We were able to look back on a year that saw the organisation positioned to expand programmes and grow in 2022"
Carin Beumer, Chair of the Board
More than 4.7 million people were supported through our health, mental health and psychosocial support programmes across four countries; we trained more than 1.9k medical staff, community health workers and psychosocial counsellors on mental health and psychosocial support; and we helped to improve child and maternal health for more than 1 million women and children across our programme countries.
